Senior Buyer
Our client, a global pharmaceutical company are currently recruiting for a Senior Buyer. The Senior Buyer will report directly into the Materials Manager. The Senior Buyer will manage the purchasing of all packaging materials and raw materials for use in the production of pharmaceutical products and medical devices, and to manage the purchase of consumable and non-inventory items

• Liaise with the Production Department and the Warehouse teams to determine material requirements and ensure the timely supply of approved materials to Production
• Work with suppliers in: handling RFQs, price and service negotiations; on issues of quality and documentation; on ensuring timelines are clearly communicated
• Coordinate and manage other Buyers within the role
• Maintain the SAP purchasing system, and this person will be expected to take on ad hoc project work and to take part in Continuous Improvement activities on site

• 3rd Level qualification in Purchasing/Material Management or 3-5 years’ experience of working in a similar role
• Excellent level of computer literacy and knowledge of ERP systems
• Excellent interpersonal skills and clear evidence of leadership skills
• Purchasing experience in a similar environment (Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology) is clear advantage
• People management experience is required
• Proven ability to work in cross-functional team environments, as well as independently
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent organisation skills
• Good decision making skills
• Will be proactive and flexible
