Our client is an Irish incorporated generic pharmaceutical company who are part of a larger group of pharmaceutical companies. They focus on the development and manufacturing of pharmaceutical products. They use 3rd Party manufacturers all over the world, all holding valid EU GMP and/or FDA approval. They then license out their products to clients globally. The team behind this organisation have significant experience within the European generic industry and today these people are focused on bringing this know-how to Ireland. This is a young vibrant company that offers excellent opportunities to their employees. They are currently seeking a senior executive to join a strong Supply Chain team. The person must have CMO & generics experience.

Role/Responsibilities:
• Reporting to the Director of Supply Chain, the Manager will be responsible for the performance of the company contract manufacturers (CMOs). The CMOs are manufacturing and supplying generic pharmaceutical products for the company and their customers.
• The Manager will be in charge of the company purchasing process including;

  1. Negotiating prices and conditions for products and raw materials always with the aim of reducing company costs;
  2. Focus will be given to the product on-time delivery to customer.
  3. International travel will be required for around 30% of the time.
• CMO relationship management ensuring open atmosphere and excellent information flow.
• Management of finished product, bulk and component requirements according to the customers’ sales orders and forecasts.
• Purchasing process management: order creation and delivery to CMO, follow-up avoiding any delay, keeping internal data bases updated and inform other concerned departments about the status of the orders until order delivery.
• Claim batch documentation to CMO and ensure reception at the agreed lead time.
• Lead the communications with CMO to follow-up the status of the on-going orders and ensure product delivery as per the agreed dates and quantities.
• Exchange information that could affect deliveries.
• Supplier’s invoices review and validation.
• Job Supervise and optimize the stock levels of the company in line with working capital targets.
• Introduction of CMO performance indicators. Collecting, monitoring and reviewing data to evaluate performance.
• Information sharing with contract manufacturers and definition of improvement actions when required.
• Product supply and components price negotiation together with Head of Supply Chain. Continuous seeking for costs reduction. Keep cost data base updated.
• Negotiating and approving new tooling requirements. Keeping the tooling database updated in collaboration with R&D.
• Management and negotiation of manufacturing contracts together Head of Supply Chain and other internal departments.
• Sourcing and selection of new CMO ensuring competitive prices and capacity as per the company needs. Create and maintain a contract manufacturer’s data base including relevant information about current and new suppliers.

Qualifications/Experience:
• Degree in Technical, Business administration or Supply Chain.
• Experience of working with contract manufacturing organizations (CMO) within a GMP international environment or planner / production manager related to the pharmaceutical or medical device industry.
• Minimum experience of 5 years’ experience.
• Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills, ability to develop and maintain business relations.
• Strong planning, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Languages: main language English, other languages are optional and beneficial.
